Which is the smallest MP3 player that you’ve come across? Most people would say the iPod shuffle, while others will rememeber of the MobiBLU Cube fondly. Well, the Micro Sport Japanese MP3 Player by Thanko clearly lives up to its name, redefining the word “tiny” and bringing it to new heights (or should we say, size?)

The Micro Sport Japanese MP3 Player, which is tiny (as pictured), but despite its small size, the creators of it managed to cram 4GB of storage space and a rechargeable battery inside it. Surprisingly, it also features stereo sound: One earbud is attached directly to the side of the main unit, while the other earbud trails on a cord around the back of your head, just reaching the opposite ear.

Loading music is incredibly easy. Simply plug the Micro Sport into the USB port of your computer. It mounts like a USB thumb drive, and you simply copy over any MP3 files you want to play. Also, USB serves to charge the built-in lithium battery, using the included cable (which is a mini USB).

Controls are as intuitive as possible, holding down the middle circular buttons turns the player on with notification from a blue LED that will flicker and flash on and off when power is on, while for changing tracks, you have the almost dedicated button atop the device that you need to tap, while pressing and holding will change the volume.

Just like you figured it out already, this MP3 player does not let you skip through individual tracks, thus listening to certain parts of a mix will be quite impossible, not only difficult. Nevertheless, this is one MP3 player is worth considering, just because of the size of it, and for the $79.99 imported from Japan.
