Haagen-Dazs Japan will open the nation's largest ice cream shop in Tokyo's Ginza district Friday, as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.

Haagen-Dazs La Maison Ginza is aimed at providing a more luxurious, upscale service than traditional ice cream parlors.

The four-story mansion-styled building offers a concierge service, and its menu includes 14 kinds of quality ice cream cuisine -- including a soup-style dish in which ice cream floats on an orange sauce, or an ice cream salad with cheese and fruit tomatoes. E

ach dish will be available between 1,150 and 1,350 yen. The parlor also provides a list of recommended wines and champagnes. "We would like to open new frontiers by promoting ice cream for adults with a discerning palate," says the company official. (Mainichi)
